Room Acoustics

Room acoustic topics have become a fairly recent addition to the portfolio of PRO-Acoustics. Room acoustics is important for a range of rooms from offices and class rooms to churches and multi-purpose rooms and auditoriums. For the planning stage acoustic design can be proposed with the help of calculations, either according to room acoustical standards or with the software Odeon.

For the renovation of classrooms, function rooms and churches, the following procedure has proven successful:

• Determine the current state of room acoustics with the help of measurements of room acoustical parameters.
• Create an acoustical model of the room and calibrate the model with the measurement results.
• Optimisation of the room acoustics in the model according to the purpose of room and the specification of the client.
• In the larger projects measurements were taken while the acoustical elements were being installed. This way it was possible to achieve the optimum sound quality in the rooms.
